Invited Speakers
Prof. Antonia Hamilton Dr Hamilton is a Professor in Social Neuroscience and leader of the Social Neuroscience group at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (UCL). She completed a PhD on the impact of neuronal noise for the optimal control of human arm movements (UCL), and postdoctoral work on imitation in autism and brain systems for action understanding. She was awarded the Experimental Psychology Society prize lectureship for 2013. Her current research interests include how and why people imitate each other, how social skills differ in autism, and the neural mechanisms of social interaction. Prof. Arjun Yodh Arjun G. Yodh is the James M. Skinner Professor of Science and the Director of The Laboratory for Research on the Structure of Matter (LRSM) and its NSF-supported Materials Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) at the University of Pennsylvania. His current interests span fundamental and applied questions in condensed matter physics, medical physics, biophysics, and the optical sciences. Most of his experiments involve optics in one way or another. Areas of ongoing research include optical microscopy, optical micromanipulation, linear/nonlinear optics, laser spectroscopy, light scattering, and biophotonics/biomedical-optics especially for functional imaging and monitoring of living tissues with diffusing light (brain, breast, muscle, spine, placenta) and for photodynamic therapy and therapy monitoring. Workshops
A series of workshops will be held on the afternoon of Thursday the 27th, given by Dr. Paula Pinti, UCL, Prof. Hamid Dehghani, UoB and Prof. Adam Eggebrecht : Tutorials in Tissue Optics and modes of measurement Introduction to Tissue Optics and Signal Extraction Advanced Tissue Optics and Tomographic Reconstruction Tour of CHBH A tour of the Centre for Human Brain Health will also be available. Space is limited and so attendance will be on a first come first served basis. If you wish to participate please select the tour in the conference registration and you will be placed on the waiting list. |
